Cody was born and raised in Mont-Tremblant where he spent every ounce of his free time taking advantage of everything the area had to offer. As he grew up and matured so did the area. When he was born, Tremblant was a small family owned ski resort. As Cody entered his teens, Tremblant had grown into the hot spot that it is today. Naturally he was attracted to the snow and spent every moment possible exploring the hills and discovering everything the mountain had to offer. As he aged his competitive drive and passion for the sport of snowboarding naturally drew him to competition. Competing recreationally in local events quickly evolved into competing on the provincial circuit. He spent his high school years competing on the Quebec team then he moved west to join the Canadian National Snowboard Team. He would go on to represent Canada competing in the North American, South American, and Europa Cup racing tours as well as the World University Games, Junior World Championships and World Cup. He amassed top 10s and podiums that would keep him ranked top five in the country for the entire time he was a member of the National team. He also collected two junior national titles and a top ten at the junior world championships. Once retiring from the competitive world of snowboarding he decided to pass along his passion for the sport to others. He transitioned into coaching and instructor training in Mont-Tremblant and eventually at Big White in British Columbia. He became a lead instructor trainer and head coach of the competition program there.
